Please apply for membership registration from the "Membership Application" page of Taiwan Chinese Education Center.
After confirming your application, we will issue you a membership number and send you an "enrollment information e-mail" within one or two business days.
Please search for Taiwan Chinese Education Center's contact Skype account "apiataiwan001" and add it to your contacts.
Please make sure to get a Skype account before applying for admission.
*For instructions on how to add a contact on Skype, please refer to "How to find a new contact on Skype".
Please select the number of lesson tickets (number of lessons) you wish to purchase from the Taiwan Chinese Education Center's "Purchase Tickets" page.
Payment can be made by credit card or Paypal.
We will notify you by e-mail when the tickets have been reflected in our reservation system.
To reserve a lesson, you need the membership number and password provided by us.
Please login tothe reservation systemwith your membership number and password, and make a reservation with your desired date, time (Japan time), and desired teacher.
If you have any requests regarding lesson content or textbooks, please let us know in the "Contact Memo" field.
・You can make a reservation at any time with your preferred teacher and at your preferred date and time (Japan time).
・You may reserve a date and time from two days to two months in advance.
・Reservations can be cancelled free of charge up to 12 hours before the scheduled lesson time.
When it is time to start the lesson, please have Skype online and wait for a call from your teacher.The teacher will send you the textbooks to be used in the lesson directly via Skype's file function, so there is no need for students to prepare them in advance. If you are a student who wishes to use the textbooks, please have them ready at hand for the lesson.
・Before taking a lesson, please add the teacher's Skype Name to your contact list.
・If you are unable to answer the Skype call from the teacher, you should contact the teacher again to start the lesson.
・If you cannot reach the teacher after 10 minutes from the scheduled lesson start time, please end the lesson and let us know through the" Lesson Feedback Form". We will try again.
If you have not heard from your teacher at the scheduled lesson start time
Please make sure that the Skype account you are logged in with is the Skype account you have registered with us.
If the student is logged in to a different Skype account, the teacher will not be able to contact the student. Please log in to your registered Skype account again and call your teacher on Skype.
Please check if the Skype Name of your teacher has been added to your Skype contacts.
If the teacher's Skype Name is not added to your contacts, you may not be able to call or chat with the teacher on Skype. If you cannot find the contact request from the teacher, please check the Skype Name after the teacher's name in the reservation system. (e.g. "apiataiwan●") Search for the teacher Skype Name in the search window and make a Skype call to the teacher.
Please check if your Skype is in the green "online" status.
If your Skype is "offline", your teacher cannot contact you via Skype call or chat. Please check your internet connection.
※We are experiencing an increasing number of problems due to students making mistakes in their reservation dates and times. Please be careful.
【If there is no problem after checking to above】
・Please keep Skype online for about 10 minutes after the scheduled lesson start time. There is a possibility that the teacher may not be able to contact you immediately for the lesson due to computer or internet problems.
・If the teacher is late, the lesson will be extended for the amount of time you have been waiting.
・If you do not receive a Skype call from your teacher within 10 minutes of the lesson start time, or if we are unable to contact you, there is a possibility that the teacher is unable to give you the lesson for some reason. In that case, please end the lesson without waiting any longer. Please let us know that you were not able to take the lesson by filling out the "Lesson Feedback Form". We will return your ticket to you.
If a student is late for a lesson
During the first 50 minutes of the lesson, the teacher is online and ready to start the lesson at any time.
Please select the Skype name of the teacher from your contacts and make a Skype call directly to the teacher.
If a student is late, the lesson cannot be extended for any reason. The student will only be allowed to take the lesson for the remainder of the lesson. Even if the student does not take the lesson as a result, the lesson will end 50 minutes after the scheduled lesson start time.
If a student is absent for any reason (including illness, internet/computer trouble, etc.), one lesson ticket per lesson will be deducted at the same time the student takes that lesson.
If you wish to cancel a reserved lesson, please do so at least 12 hours before the scheduled lesson start time on the reservation system. Cancellation up to 12 hours before the scheduled lesson start time is free of charge, but not after that time. Please note that cancellations via Skype, e-mail, or telephone cannot be accepted.
The following are precautions to be taken when using this service.
1. Students may use their own textbooks in addition to the designated textbooks.
In that case, please follow the instructions below.
・Please prepare the amount of text that can be completed in one lesson (50 minutes).
・Please hand in your textbooks directly to your teacher using Skype's file transfer function.
・Please prepare the text in a format that can be sent via Skype (images, Word documents).
・Please hand over the text data to your teacher approximately 10 minutes before the lesson is scheduled to start.
(Please refrain from sending the text data before this time as it may affect the Skype call with other students during the lesson.)
・We do not accept requests to check assignments outside of lesson time. Please ask your teacher to check your assignment during the lesson time.
・As a rule, text data can only be delivered directly to and from the teacher via Skype.
*With the exception of Japanese and English explanations (including other languages) for learning Chinese, we do not accept lessons for the purpose of having a teacher translate or interpret for you. In the unlikely event that this is discovered, a separate fee will be charged.
2. We prohibit any personal contact between the teacher and the customer outside of the reserved lesson for any reason, or any lesson conducted without going through our company.If you are asked for your contact information by a teacher, please inform our support immediately without giving it to us.
If a teacher contacts you via skype outside of the lesson time, please let our support know.
In addition to contacting teachers via Skype outside of lesson time, exchanging phone numbers, email addresses, and other contact information such as Facebook, Line, Twitter, KakaoTalk, and other social networking services and messengers is also prohibited.
3. any conduct or behavior that could be perceived as verbal abuse, harassment, or sexual harassment of teachers is prohibited.
Not only do we rigorously screen the character of our teachers, but we also provide guidance on how to behave as a teacher in our company. However, in the unlikely event that you discover any conduct or behavior that you believe constitutes abusive language or sexual harassment, please notify our support staff immediately.
Please be advised that if any of the above items applies to you, or if you discover any conduct prohibited by the Terms of Use, we will take action in accordance with the Terms of Use.
